Youth BasketBall League

BasketBall

The YWCA of Lubbock Youth Basketball League is a 6 or 8-week, non-competitive, recreational league with weekly practices and games. Practices are weekday evenings, while games are exclusively played on Saturdays. We do not have an end of the season tournament. Our goal with our basketball league is to give the children of the community a space to learn the mechanics of basketball, make mistakes without fear, and demonstrate good sportsmanship. With these goals in mind, we do not allow pre-made, pre-set, or pre-existing teams. Parents that enroll during open registration have the ability to request a certain coach, day of the week for practice, or to have their child on the same team as their friend. Open registration requests are prioritized over late registration requests.

Teams are coached by volunteer coaches with an emphasis on teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and having fun.

Practices are held Monday – Thursday between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.
